Embedded Software Engineer - C++

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support Flight Management System (FMS) development for an aerospace program in Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ .

The role focuses on developing, enhancing, debugging, and maintaining embedded C++ software associated with Human Machine Interface (HMI) functionality for Multifunction Control and Display Unit (MCDU) applications.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, modify, and enhance existing Embedded C++ software based on Change Requests (CRs).

Develop and maintain HMI functionality for MCDU/CDU applications.

Understand software architecture, design constructs, and avionics system requirements.

Perform software debugging, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and verification.

Collaborate with system engineers, software architects, verification teams, and customer stakeholders.

Support software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.

Participate in code reviews and follow aerospace software development processes and standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

3-8 years of Embedded Software Development experience.

Strong C++ programming experience in embedded systems .

Ability to understand existing software architecture and implement enhancements based on Change Requests.

Strong software debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Good understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development lifecycle.

FMS experience is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Flight Management Systems (FMS) or avionics applications.

Experience with MCDU/CDU, cockpit systems, flight deck software, or avionics display systems.

Knowledge of DO-178B/C .

Experience with software integration, unit testing, and verification.

Exposure to VectorCAST, LDRA, RTRT, Git, ClearCase , or similar tools.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid position based in Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ .

Expected onsite presence approximately 2-3 days per week .

Initial engagement of one year , with strong potential for extension.
