Sr. Systems AdministratorApex Systems is seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator to join one of our government clients in Ft. Meade, MD.Project Details / Mission Supported:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join a small, collaborative team supporting enterprise server and virtual infrastructure environments. This role serves as a senior technical resource responsible for Tier II/III support, system configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and complex break-fix activities across Windows, Linux, and Solaris environments.Key Responsibilities:Serve as a Tier II/III escalation point for major incidents, outages, and complex technical issues.Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise server environments.Perform system upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and break-fix activities.Support and manage Windows, Linux, and Solaris server environments, with primary emphasis on Linux administration.Maintain and support virtualized infrastructure and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation, knowledge articles, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Review technical work performed by junior team members and provide coaching and mentorship.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, system stability, and support processes.Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity teams to resolve cross-functional issues.Participate in problem management and root cause analysis efforts for recurring incidents.Required Qualifications:8+ years of overall experience and a Bachelors degree. Other level of degrees will be accepted with correlating years of experience.Sec+ certification or other DoD 8140 certificationStrong experience administering Linux servers.Working knowledge of Windows Server environments.Experience working in virtualized environments.Proven ability to create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.Location: Ft. Meade, MDClearance Level: Top Secret or TS/SCI in the last 2 yearsSalary/Pay range: $60-65/hrSchedule: 5:00am-1:00pmPLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance as a condition and continuation of employment*
