Network Engineer

Network EngineerThe Network Engineer will work to design, deploy, and support our hybrid networking environment, with a focus on on-premise data center, campus and SDWAN infrastructure and integration with Azure cloud networking. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience troubleshooting network solutions that bridge on-premises, branch, and cloud environments.This role will be in our Warrenville, Illinois (IL)! This is not a remote position.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain Azure routing policies, particularly for vWAN architecturesConfigure and manage Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute,Configure BGP routing, dynamic routing policies, and route propagation between SD-WAN campus and data center edges and cloud hubsTroubleshoot routing, latency, and connectivity issues across on-prem and cloud environmentsMonitor network performance and capacityMaintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating proceduresRespond to escalated network incidentsPartner with cloud, security, and application teams on network-related projects and migrationsQualifications4-6 years of experience in network engineering, with direct experience in Azure cloud networkingHands-on experience with enterprise scale WAN, LAN and vWANStrong understanding of network routing protocols, BGP, SMB, DNS, IPsec, OSPFExperience with ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, NGFWExperience designing and supporting multi-region cloud networkingFamiliarity with network segmentation principlesWorking knowledge of IPsec and QoS in SDWAN environmentsExcellent documentation and communication skillsExperience with multi-cloud networking (AWS/GCP) a plusRelevant certifications such as AZ-700The base salary range for this position is: $80,000-$95,000 depending on experience and location.Why Kimley-Horn?At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
