Dispatcher

Propane Ninja is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to support our growing delivery and service operations in Plant City, Florida. This role is ideal for someone who already has strong dispatch experience in a high-volume logistics environment and is ready to step into a more advanced operational role with the opportunity to grow into Dispatch Supervisor.

We are looking for someone who can bring immediate value to the dispatch team through strong route planning, real-time problem solving, driver coordination, and sound operational judgment.

This is not an entry-level dispatcher position. The successful candidate should already understand the pace, pressure, and decision-making required in a busy dispatch environment.

The Experienced Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating daily delivery and service routes, supporting driver productivity, managing schedule changes, communicating with customers and internal departments, and making real-time operational adjustments throughout the day.

This position requires someone who can think ahead, prioritize quickly, communicate clearly, and remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will have prior experience dispatching multiple drivers, managing high-volume routes, and making independent decisions that balance customer service, efficiency, safety, and operational needs.

After successfully completing the probationary period and demonstrating strong leadership, decision-making, accountability, and operational performance, this role may transition into a Dispatch Supervisor position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily delivery and service routes to support efficient operations and customer service expectations.
• Dispatch multiple drivers and field team members throughout the day.
• Monitor route progress, driver productivity, service needs, and changing daily priorities.
• Make real-time route and schedule adjustments due to delays, customer needs, staffing changes, traffic, equipment issues, or operational demands.
• Prioritize urgent service needs while maintaining route efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, customers, managers, and internal departments.
• Help ensure drivers have the information, instructions, and support needed to complete assigned work efficiently.
• Identify issues before they become larger operational problems and escalate when appropriate.
• Use dispatch software, GPS routing systems, telematics, and business applications to support daily dispatch functions.
• Demonstrate leadership potential through professionalism, ownership, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
• Assist with training, coaching, and supporting other dispatch team members as needed.
• Support improved dispatch structure, accountability, and follow-through within the department.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, route updates, notes, and communication history.

Must Have

• Previous dispatch experience in a high-volume logistics, delivery, fuel, propane, LTL, beverage, waste, distribution, or route-based operation.
• Experience coordinating multiple drivers or field employees at the same time.
• Proven ability to make real-time routing, scheduling, and service-priority decisions.
• Strong understanding of route efficiency, customer service demands, driver productivity, and daily operational flow.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions quickly.
• Strong communication skills with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands.
• Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS routing systems, telematics, Google Workspace, or similar business applications.
• Professionalism, accountability, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to report to work on-site in Plant City, Florida.

Nice to have

• Experience dispatching in the propane, fuel, gas, or utility service industry.
• Knowledge of propane delivery operations, route optimization, service scheduling, and customer service expectations.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations, driver hours, safety-sensitive operations, or regulated fleet environments.
• Experience working with routing platforms, telematics, dispatch software, CRM systems, or ERP systems.
• Prior leadership, lead dispatcher, senior dispatcher, or supervisory experience.
• Experience helping improve dispatch workflows, driver communication, routing efficiency, or team accountability.

What Makes This Role Different

This role is intended for a dispatcher who brings experience beyond a standard dispatcher level. We are looking for someone who has already handled complex, high-volume dispatch operations and can contribute quickly with minimal training.

The right candidate will not only understand dispatch tasks, but will also demonstrate the ability to think operationally, make decisions independently, communicate effectively under pressure, and help raise the performance of the dispatch function.

This position provides a clear path toward Dispatch Supervisor for someone who demonstrates the leadership, operational knowledge, and decision-making ability required to lead the dispatch team.

Compensation

Compensation of $60k-$65k will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated dispatch background.
