Software Applications Developer IThis position supports business applications for a public sector client. The primary responsibility is the maintenance of business applications, including upgrades, development of apps, reports, and interfaces, as well as user support and application testing. The role requires interaction with various teams to deliver timely services and deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain various applications, including application upgrades and patch maintenance.Develop and maintain related applications and interfaces.Gather business requirements and document specifications for the development of applications, reports, and interfaces.Remediate applications for compliance following WCAG/ADA accessibility rules.Migrate and test the implementation of business applications from using.net domain to.gov domain.Implement and enforce processes for application migration, testing, and support maintenance.Provide production support for business applications, technical environments, and interfacing systems.Prioritize and assign target completion dates for fixes and change orders.Follow existing business processes and operational guidelines for application support and maintenance activities.Follow through on project development and production issues to ensure resolution and proper root-cause analysis.Coordinate with staff and vendors for application support and issue resolution.Support 24x7 business operations and be available onsite during business hours.Required QualificationsA college degree, preferably in the fields of Computer Science or Computer Engineering, is required. A minimum of two years of work experience as an applications developer using C#, .NET, Java, or another object-oriented programming language is required. At least one year of hands-on coding experience in SQL is also required. Candidates must have working knowledge of a relational database such as MS SQL Server or Oracle. Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills are necessary. The ability to multi-task, learn quickly, and adapt to a multi-platform technical environment is essential. Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills are required. The ability to provide off-hours support for production-related issues is necessary.
