Security Architect

Job Description

Our client, a forward-leaning organization in the security space, is seeking a Security Architect to join their team. As a Security Architect, you will be part of a collaborative group focused on enterprise security architecture-driving the review and authorship of Architecture Decision Records and supporting Security Architecture Review Board submissions. From secure-by-design guidance to responsible adoption of Generative AI (GenAI) and agentic systems, you'll help ensure intelligent automation is governed, traceable, and safe. If you're motivated by turning complex security requirements into clear architectural decisions, this role is built for you.

Job Title: Security Architect

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Pay Range: 75/hr w2

What's the Job?

Lead security reviews of solution and domain architectures, including ADRs and AI-enabled platforms, ensuring designs meet enterprise standards and risk tolerance.

Assess GenAI and agentic solution designs for model security, data protection, prompt integrity, provenance, and safe orchestration of agents.

Author and maintain ADRs, patterns, and reference architectures-including GenAI system integration, LLM usage, and multi-agent frameworks-clearly documenting options, controls, and trade-offs.

Define and evaluate security controls for GenAI systems, including model access, data boundary protections, prompt injection defenses, and guardrails for autonomous or multi-step agent behavior.

Support continuous improvement by using GenAI tools to enhance document review, ADR quality assurance, and SARB throughput while maintaining accountability and verification.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in architecture or security design, including experience with AI-related systems in enterprise environments.

Strong enterprise security architecture knowledge aligned to frameworks such as SABSA, TOGAF, and NIST CSF.

Demonstrable experience securing GenAI or autonomous agents, including threat modeling for composite systems where GenAI interacts with APIs, data stores, and user environments.

Clear, structured authorship and analytical writing skills to produce traceable architectural recommendations and defensible decision documentation.

What's in it for me?

Opportunity to shape secure-by-design adoption of GenAI and agentic capabilities across business domains.

Role impact through clear, complete ADRs and actionable SARB review feedback that reduces residual security risk.

Chance to contribute to enterprise policy for responsible AI use and GenAI-assisted development.

Ability to mentor peers on human-AI collaborative authoring with accountability and verification of AI output.

Platform to be recognized as a thought leader in secure GenAI architecture and governance.
