Student Computer Support Technician - SAAC

Job Description

Job Summary

The Student-Athlete Academic Center (SAAC) is currently seeking a Computer Support Technician to join their team of professionals. This professional will serve the SAAC staff and student-athlete community.

This tech will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Assisting with set up and maintenance of computer teaching labs.

Assisting with maintenance and setup of staff and student athlete computers.

Assisting with technical support for end users.

Assisting with inventory and surplus of technology.

Working as part of a team in a professional office setting.

Performing other job related duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.

Ability to provide superior customer service

Ability to troubleshoot basic wireless network issues on various operating systems

Ability to troubleshoot basic Microsoft Office Suit applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

Ability to install a wide variety of computer software on Windows and Mac operating systems

Ability to work in a team setting.

Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.

Keen attention to detail

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.

During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.

Upon graduating, student employment must end.

Work Schedule

Must be available and able to work up to 20 hours a week, hours will vary.

SAAC Hours of Operation:

8:00AM to 8:00PM (Monday- Thursday)

8:00AM to 5:00PM (Friday)

Must be able to work nights when required.

Advertised Salary

$14.00/hour to $15.00/hour
