Sr. Database Consultant

Sr. Database Consultant Contract (6+ months- could potentially go perm down the line)

2-3 days/week remote

2 days onsite will be the norm when they return

Boston - Preference for local candidates- can be 100% remote

Interview process: 2 rounds MAYBE 3

Project:

Will be sharing the workload with the current Sr. DBA as they're going through a large Database project

Have a legacy accounting and trading platform been around for 15 years.

Implemented new accounting platform Geneva accounting about 6 years ago

Now they want to retire the OMS portion of the legacy system and implement EZE castle

Because of the organic growth within the firm, there are a lot of queries tied to the legacy systems

Moving to a Vendor agnostic architecture moving forward.

Project falls into 4 buckets

Completing Geneva accounting system implementation

Implementing the new OMS only execution

Vendor Agnostic- building a data warehouse, collect from vendor/trading systems and expose to other parts of the firm

Retiring the old system

Have been making fairly good progress within those 4 buckets and have come up with various challenges.

Increase to capacity internally in order to be able to move quicker specifically around DWH, but could also help figure out an archiving strategy/

Tech:

SQL Server 2016 primarily

Fairly complex environment, Dev, QA and Prod all on different versions of SQL.

Deployment process is fairly manual

Would like to look at internal process, need someone who's been around the block

Must hit the ground running in a matter of weeks, not months

Expert level T-SQL

Would ideally like them to be able to read code

Data Modeling tools: Visio is what they us, relate to diagrams- Visio experience would set them apart

Jira/Confluence for Tracking and documentation

SVN for source control

Financial services experience is a must
