Job Description:

The City of Milwaukee uses Sierra Cedar to support our PeopleSoft system. Sierra Cedar is moving their data center to the Cloud (AWS). In order to meet their deadlines in the Sierra Cedar AWS Test Environment, we need assistance from a dedicated person to work on this project. We need assistance from someone with PeopleSoft experience moving from the support vendors data center (in our case Sierra Cedar) to the Cloud (we are going to AWS). Also, someone that has functional knowledge in HR and Finance. Help is needed with technical testing using FTP and Maestro (add on to PS), including working with interfaces and vendors, testing in PS Classic version (not Fluid).

We have around 50 interfaces on our list to test in the AWS Test Environment

Testing includes knowing how to:

Determine if Batch Job or if it can be run manually

Review internal documents to determine file path

Run the program in File Transfer Utility

Familiar with Run Control ID and Effective Dating

Define pay calendars for Payroll testing. If data not set up, the job would fail.

Create the file? Use FTP definition to send the file over to the vendor? Use Process Scheduler / Monitor to see if jobs have been run successfully? Troubleshoot issues under Process Detail and View Log/Trace under the File List and the out file to see what errors show up if it fails

Examples: password in definition, right file path, connection not open, firewalls no open, SFTP error, can’t access file...

If it fails, work with our support vendor Sierra Cedar to look at the log files on the server using the PI (Process Instance number) and screen shots of error messages? Even though it says Success, verify with the vendor that they received the test file.
