Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Planning & Construction Services, the Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned major and/or minor construction projects, including all aspects of project management during development, planning, design, construction, and final close‑out.

Compensation & Benefits
FLSA Status: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Salary Range: $7,917 per month - $9,167 per month
CSU Salary Range: $4,135 per month - $12,288 per month
Salary Grade: 1
Recruitment Type: At‑Will
Time Base: Full‑Time
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; up to one day telecommuting per week

Responsibilities
Responsible for managing assigned major and/or minor construction projects, including all aspects of project management during development, planning, design, construction, and final close‑out.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
Progressive project management experience.
Experience monitoring project budgets and timelines.
Experience administering and reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven track record in managing and coordinating contracts.
Ability to manage and direct contractors/sub‑contractors.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record.
Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited university.
Professional licensed architect, mechanical or electrical engineer.
Knowledge of California construction codes and laws, including seismic codes.
Experience managing major and/or minor construction projects.
Experience in successfully managing multiple concurrent projects.
Knowledge of California Public Works project management.
Experience managing projects for California State University, State of California, University of California, California Community Colleges, or local governments or special districts in California.
Conditions of Employment
Satisfactory completion of the background check process.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record.
