Staff Software Engineer

Job Description

Sustaining Software EngineerJoin our team as a Sustaining Software Engineer and contribute to our Digital Product and Automation initiatives. You'll provide crucial support and expertise, enhancing our NOVOS Automation Drilling Platform and improving field deployment processes. Your impact will drive product reliability and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesProvide second-level technical support for software products and automation systems, ensuring efficient issue resolution.Utilize Jira Service Management to track, prioritize, and resolve issues, maintaining an organized approach.Conduct root cause analysis on software and system issues, proposing effective solutions for field-identified problems.Develop and maintain customer-specific software configurations, ensuring optimal performance and customization.Drive continuous improvements to deployment processes and support tools, streamlining operations.Engage in software development and enhancements, creating advanced diagnostic utilities for field support.Maintain and update virtualized test and training environments, ensuring accurate representations for testing.Collaborate with customers and internal teams to identify product improvement opportunities, enhancing reliability.Update firewall configurations and security policies using approved scripting and automation tools.Administer web applications, manage user access, and release configuration files for seamless application deployments.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience supporting industrial automation, control systems, or complex software applications is essential.Strong troubleshooting skills and expertise in root cause analysis for integrated software and hardware systems.Knowledge of networking architecture, firewall administration, and troubleshooting is a must.Experience administering Linux-based systems and familiarity with AWS cloud services is preferred.Experience with web application administration, user access management, and configuration management.Proficiency in SQL, Linux, Python, and virtualization technologies (VirtualBox, VMware, or Hyper-V).Field experience supporting industrial automation systems is an asset.Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for customer support and field deployments.
