Data EngineerIndustry: Banking and Finance clientsLocation: Durham NC (Hybrid)Duration: Long Term projectThe Expertise We Are Looking ForBachelor’s degree in a technology with minimum of 5-7 year of work experienceAdvanced knowledge & “hands-on” experience on Power BI!Advanced knowledge & “hands-on” experience with Power BI Embedded Analytics (User Owns Data & App Owns Data)Intermediate/Advanced knowledge & experience with SQL and good understanding of Data warehousing and Relational database concepts & technologies!Exposure to Snowflake Cloud DatawarehouseExposure to Agile methodologyThe SkillsStrong experience in using Power BI Rest APIs/PBI cmdlets in Power BI Embedded Analytics contextExperience in embedding Power BI artifacts such as reports, dashboards, and tiles, in a web application (Angular preferably) – App owns dataStrong knowledge and implementation experience with Power BI embedding security models in User owns data & App owns data (including user context passing from web app to Power BI etc)Experience with building visualizations & complex data sets in Power BIStrong experience & knowledge in DAXExperience with tools like DAX studio/Tabular Editor/ALM toolkit/SSRS is beneficialStrong experience in security models in Power BI embedded analytics spaceAbility to take complex data issues, methodologies and analysis results and present them to business stakeholders through “visual stories”The ability to seamlessly understand reporting & analytics requirementsAbility to analyze and synthesize a wide range of big data into valuable insightsData Analysis using SQL on data sourcesExperience on working with Power BI and Snowflake in Direct Query modeAbility to work and collaborate in globally dispersed organizationStrong desire to learn and develop additional skills and expertise overtime, as well as drive process improvementStrong analytical, presentation and leadership skillsAdaptable, flexible and thrive in a changing, dynamic environmentHighly motivated, proactive, self-starter and works well with minimal supervisionThe ValueWe configure, develop, and debug reports in Power BI and analyze dataWe write SQL queries and functions in a sophisticated Datawarehouse & Relational database environment.We update and track tasks in JIRA.We build, update, and maintain user documentation for software-based projects and products.We interact effectively with business partners to understand business requirements and assist in generation of technical requirements.
