Job Description

Upholsterer We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholsterer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing, restoring, and creating furniture pieces by covering them with fabric, leather, or other materials. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and a strong eye for design and detail. Key Responsibilities: Measure and cut fabric or leather to the correct dimensions based on templates or custom requirements Remove old upholstery and padding from furniture Inspect frames and springs; make necessary repairs or replacements Apply new padding and fabric using hand tools and power tools Sew, glue, staple, or tack fabric to furniture frames Ensure finished pieces meet quality standards and client expectations Collaborate with designers, clients, and other team members to fulfill custom orders Maintain inventory of materials and tools Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to safety guidelines Qualifications: Proven experience as an upholsterer or in a similar furniture production role Knowledge of upholstery techniques, tools, and materials Skilled in cutting, sewing, and assembling fabric and padding Ability to read blueprints, design plans, and measurements Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift heavy items during the workday Preferred: Certification or formal training in upholstery or furniture design (not required but a plus) Experience working with both traditional and modern upholstery methods Work Environment: Workshop-based role with occasional on-site work depending on projects May involve use of loud machinery and exposure to dust or adhesives
