Senior Java Dev - Catalog team

The Senior Java Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable services for the Catalog team. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, cloud technologies, Kafka, testing, and CI/CD pipelines. The engineer must be capable of working independently, owning tasks end-to-end, and contributing to a high-velocity engineering environment. This position operates in a hybrid model with onsite work required twice per week. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Develop and enhance catalog-related microservices with high scalability, reliability, and performance. Work with cloud-based environments to deploy, maintain, and optimize distributed applications. Develop, test, and maintain event-driven systems leveraging Kafka. Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and automated test frameworks. Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery. Debug and resolve production issues in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA, DevOps, and architecture. Work independently on tasks and deliver solutions without needing extensive guidance. Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Java development. Expertise with Spring Boot and microservice development. Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar). Strong experience with Kafka for messaging and event streaming. Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and automated tests. Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.). Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Ability to work in a hybrid model, onsite twice per week in Sunnyvale from Day 1. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on large-scale catalog, product data, or inventory systems. Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with distributed system design patterns and scalability best practices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
