Sr. Data Engineer

CyberSource Corporation is hiring a Sr. Data Engineer in Bellevue, WA (onsite). This role helps deliver secure, data-driven capabilities by partnering closely with stakeholders, strengthening data quality and governance, and modernizing pipeline components through disciplined engineering and testing. What You’ll Do

• Collaborate proactively with stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify key product stakeholders for data-driven features.
• Review technical requirements, elevate potential design issues, and create component designs with supporting documentation.
• Implement code using established coding patterns and best practices while adhering to security requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, incorporate feedback, and take ownership of data products or pipeline components.
• Conduct unit testing, follow coding standards, run security scans, and participate in user acceptance testing.
• Build tools and simple automation processes to support transforming, managing, accessing, deploying, and monitoring data processes.
• Create and optimize queries to extract and compile raw data, implement orchestration techniques, and validate data quality.
• Ensure adherence to data management principles, governance practices, and performance monitoring protocols.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance and procedures to review and fix problems flagged during testing.
• Support routine client requests, including technical support and activities such as software upgrades and server patches for security remediation.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Specialist-level experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience presenting technical solutions and capabilities to peers.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally to clarify requirements and define technical solutions.
• Experience designing and documenting technical components for data products or pipelines.
• Experience implementing code with coding standards and security requirements.
• Experience conducting unit testing and participating in user acceptance testing.
• Experience building automation tools for data processes.
• Experience creating queries and implementing data extraction and transformation techniques.
• Experience ensuring data quality and performance monitoring.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving pipeline issues.
• Experience supporting software upgrades and security remediation.
• Experience staying current with market trends and applying industry knowledge to innovation.
• Experience participating in code reviews and mentoring peers.
• Experience addressing client requests requiring technical knowledge.

Compensation and Schedule

Salary: USD 123,700 - 191,300 per year.

Work hours: Varies based on the needs of the department.

Travel: 5-10% of the time.
