Thanks for your interest in joining our team!We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an Associate or Senior Associate level position within our Mechanical Engineering practice in our Denver, CO office with expertise in dynamics and failure analysis. In this role you will work as part of a nation-wide team to analyze a wide variety of mechanical systems ranging from consumer products to heavy machinery. This position will involve experimental testing, field inspections, engineering analysis, and computer modeling. The successful candidate will be expected to apply the principles of mechanical engineering design and analysis to a wide variety of technical problems, and should be able to demonstrate a strong background in experimental testing, computational analyses, creative problem solving, and communication skills. The candidate will interact with clients, managers, engineers, laboratory personnel and non-technical staff.You will be responsible for:Communicating effectively with other engineers, managers, clients and administrative professionalsManaging and executing specific projects related to a variety of mechanical engineering applications including failure analysis, product testing in the laboratory and evaluation of components, systems, and structures during site and field visitsDesigning and implementing custom experimental methods to address unique problems related to mechanical performancePerforming technical evaluations and analysis to prepare written reports and presentationsPerforming field inspections and conducting hands-on failure analysis for litigation mattersMarketing the firm's technical capabilities to clients and the scientific communityParticipating in office activities (monthly office meetings, learning lunches, etc) to foster a collaborative work environment; this is not a remote position and applicants should expect to work primarily from the Denver, Colorado locationYou will have the following skills and qualifications:Ph.D. in Mechanical EngineeringSpecialized knowledge in dynamics, kinematics, vibrations, or other relevant motion fields with experience in collecting and analyzing dataFamiliarity with terms and concepts related to mechanical engineeringExcellent verbal and written communications skillsAbility to convey technical information to individuals in engineering, business, legal and related industriesDesire to solve problems, work around roadblocks or setbacks, and contribute positively wherever askedStrong background in experimental mechanical testing or hands on experienceStrong ability to distill complex technical information and present it effectively to a wide range of audiences with varying technical backgroundsInterest in collaborating and working with multidisciplinary teams within and across our various practicesDesire and drive to eventually manage large projects in terms of technical direction, staffing, budget, and client interactionsWilling to travel, sometimes on short noticeAbility and desire to become a Licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical EngineeringValid US driver's license or ability to obtain onePresently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing requiredApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.Salary Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.Exponent is a proud equal opportunity employer.
