Here, you will make an impact by:Supporting product lifecycle management, change management, and product support activities for electromechanical Powered and Supplied Air Respiratory Systems.Contributing to product design, technology development, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute product verification, validation, qualification, and manufacturing readiness activities for new and existing products.Identifying and implementing product and process improvements that improve customer experience, product performance, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.Providing technical support to global R&D, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and business teams by investigating technical issues and developing practical engineering solutions.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).Three (3) years of experience in research and development, product development, design engineering, testing and engineering functions in a private, public, government, or military environment.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Advanced degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience in respiratory protection, personal safety products, medical devices, or other regulated products.Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), product lifecycle management, or sustaining engineering activities.Experience utilizing DFMEA, risk assessment, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, or structured problem-solving methodologies.Experience participating in cross-functional engineering projects supporting product development from concept through commercialization.Experience supporting electromechanical products, components, subsystems, or automation equipment.Experience with product testing, design verification, validation, engineering change management, or manufacturing support activities.Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global cross-functional teams.Work location:This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN.Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
