Python Developer

Application Development LeadThe client is seeking experienced Application Development Leads to support strategic engineering initiatives within enterprise developer platforms and open-source enablement programs. These roles will focus on backend development, developer experience, CI/CD automation, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI-assisted development workflows.Location: McLean, VA - need local candidates onlySalary Range: 40-45/hr on w2SHould work on Artech w2 onlyRequired Skills & Qualifications:8 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.Strong expertise in at least two of the following programming languages: Python, Java, TypeScript, Golang.Experience designing and developing backend applications, APIs, and infrastructure services.Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.Experience working in Agile development environments.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Must have previous client experience working for this customer in the past 5 years.Preferred Skills & Qualifications:Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Dev Containers.Strong CI/CD experience using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions.AWS Lambda and AWS Fargate experience.Experience building developer platforms, internal tooling, or engineering productivity solutions.Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automated provisioning.Experience with CLI-based Generative AI tools, including tools such as Claude CLI or similar AI-assisted development solutions.Exposure to developer experience (DevEx), platform engineering, or site reliability engineering practices.Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native applications and internal developer platforms.Build and enhance backend services, APIs, and infrastructure components supporting enterprise development teams.Drive implementation of CI/CD pipelines and development automation solutions.Develop scalable solutions using modern programming languages and containerized environments.Collaborate with platform engineering teams to establish standardized development environments across multiple technology stacks.Partner with Communities of Practice and engineering stakeholders to gather requirements and implement platform enhancements.Integrate AI-assisted developer tooling and CLI-based generative AI capabilities into development workflows.Support deployment, operational readiness, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on architecture and best practices.Company Benefits & Culture:Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and innovative projects.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.Professional growth and learning opportunities.
